Not so "mini" Mini!

Here are pictures of the building of our miniature house that has been our backyard project for the last month.  It is a playhouse for Layel and Liberty!  It is not quite completed, it needs a coat of paint, trim pieces, and landscaping all around that still needs to be done.  It may be a while, it has been so hot and humid, I haven't been able to paint!  The inside is about done, hot pink floor (picked out by the 8 year old!) and white walls almost all in place!  Time for a tea-party!

Taa Daa.........the (almost )  finished project!  Mini Blessings, Kim

Fresh baked bread anyone?

Not many "minis" being made lately!  I have waited so long for the hot sun, I just can't bring myself to stay inside and craft not to mention the huge "mini" project in the backyard (pictures to come!)  Anyway, I stayed up late the last few evenings making this bread making board for my niece's doll house.  Hope you like it!

Hoping you summer has been filled with warm, sunny days!  Mini Blessings!, Kim

Nursery Rhyme Pails.....

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn.
The sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn.
Where is the boy that looks after the sheep?
"He's under the haycock, fast asleep."
Will you wake him? "No, not I;
For if I do, he'll be sure to cry."

The little pails are made of paper...I got a little carried away with the rust....I love to make things look old!

Have a blessed weekend!  Kim

Miriam's Room...............

I am a very lucky woman, I have tons of beautiful  nephews and nieces! This is a little scene  I made for my sweet niece Miriam for her second birthday.....okay, it is way past her birthday but better late than never, right?!  I  added a few things that are in her "real" room  like the  Winnie the Pooh books she received for a birthday present and the the clock, and her favorite cat, Skippy John Jones!  I am overdoing it with the pictures but I wanted to show the details.  I love you, Miriam, you are a huge blessing from God!

Picture of the birthday girl and her favorite brother!....

Butterflies!

Here are a couple of butterfly cages and a butterfly net I made for a scene I am making and for my daughter's dollhouse. They were very hard to photograph....so the pics aren't great..... but it is what it is!!!!!  Have a terrific weekend everyone!!!!

The cages were hard to hold and not smoosh, but I guess real ones are a little smooshy too!

Birdhouses!

The warm and sun has finally shown themselves this week in Iowa!  It went from the 40s to 88 almost overnight!    The girls and I decided to throw a blanket in the yard, sit in the sun and craft.....besides sunburns, and a water fight with the hose, this is what we accomplished....
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Bird houses.......

 and more birdhouses......

Vintage Pictures...

Here are a few more vintage photos.

I scanned both sides so they would be exact copies of the originals.....well, except for their "mini-ness"

Hope you have a sunny weekend!  Mini Blessings, Kim

Love Letters....

I really enjoy working with old pictures and letters.....this is a little scene I made for Layel and Liberty's doll house.  It is a real letter and envelope that my father wrote to my mother before they were married, he was away in the military.  The pictures are of my mom and dad......  I thought it would be neat to have the real thing in one-twelfth!

My mom (in the pic) is actually looking at the picture of my dad that I have framed in this scene .......
